Great little hotel. Located around a lot of places to explore and dine at. The train station is right outside the front door fir massive convenience.
The staff are very friendly as well. Massive bonus.

Spark by Hilton Review
Let me start by clarifying: this is not what you would expect from a Hilton property. Spark by Hilton is a budget hotel with very basic amenities—no fridge, no facial tissues, no room phones, and only standard WiFi (you pay extra for premium). For £95 per night, it feels closer to a backpacker’s lodging than a typical hotel experience.
Accessibility & Convenience
The hotel’s setup is highly inconvenient, particularly for individuals with disabilities. Cars are not allowed to drop off passengers at the entrance—you are required to walk about 400 feet to reach the hotel. The nearest car park is a six-minute walk away, and only black cabs are permitted to stop at the front. This is an unwelcoming arrangement for anyone with mobility challenges.
Housekeeping is minimal, with rooms cleaned only every two days, and even then, you must request it. The lack of basic amenities and convenience makes it clear that this is far from Hilton standards.
Customer Service
The staff experience was mixed. While the receptionist and maintenance staff, particularly Tom, were exceptionally helpful—Tom even walked with me from the street to the hotel—the manager’s attitude was shockingly rude. There was no willingness to assist or provide support, which is unacceptable in any hospitality setting.
Room & Amenities
The accessibility room itself was reasonably sized, with a spacious bathroom and good water pressure in the shower. However, the sparse amenities made it feel underwhelming.
Breakfast
The breakfast was decent, with good service, though the selection was limited.
Other Issues
The hotel was generally quiet, aside from the recurring fire alarms, which were disruptive.
Overall Verdict
At £95 per night in Romford, this hotel offers far too little for the price. Between the lack of amenities, accessibility challenges, poor management, and the minimal cleaning schedule, it does not justify the cost.
I won’t be returning. However, if you’re a young student or traveler looking for a basic, budget-friendly place and don’t mind the inconveniences, this might suit your needs.

I had to prepay and then was charged again. I have made multiple attempts to contact the hotel with no luck. Front desk staff were aloof- completely disregarded diamond status stating “we are an economy hotel.” I do not recommend this hotel.

Double charged for hotel room. Told when checking in it was paid already, they said it was just a deposit and double charged, can't get money back. No breakfast for Diamond status, burned hand on shower pipes, not accommodating at all. Avoid this trashy spot!

The hotel is less than a minute's walk to the train station- strategically located.

Perfectly adequate hotel for its price range. I’ve stayed here twice and I will probably do so again in the future.

Two ladies at the front desk was absolutely fantastic.
I want to check in at 9a and they made it happen. This hotel is located right next door to Romford Station can't beat that

I have never given a hotel - or any establishment - a 1 star review. I've been to hundreds of hotels and this might be the worst. The ONLY good thing about this place is one of the receptionists (potentially Lola?). We arrived to an unclean toilet filled with hair in the sink and on the shower supplies. It was disgusting. The toilet seat was up too, so I'm wondering if someone had used it before we came? It was honestly a terrible start. The receptionist insisted she would clean it as the housekeeping staff had already left.
Not only was the room small and unclean, but we were then woken up by a fire alarm on our first night! And finally, they have no amenities like a shower cap. The station is close by, which is also good, but that is as far as it's redeeming qualities go. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone and I regret coming here.

This hotel is a scam. Reserved a room at this hotel which was not confirmed. There was zero communication regarding the reservation as the booking was not confirmed and I was charged for non-appearance. Tried speaking to the hotel twice and staff was unhelpful and rude

Website is inaccurate about parking - be warned!! There are no car park facilities closer than at least 1/2 mile away, so had to trek with my suitcase and heavy work bag through an unfamiliar town centre - I would not have booked this hotel if I knew this! When I raised the matter with reception staff, I was told, “Sorry, we still need to update our website!”
Room was clean but tiny and the work ‘desk’ was no more than an 8” wide shelf!
The location was the only thing that raised the star rating for my visit.

This location has reached its pinnacle, standing out as a hidden gem that should not be overlooked despite its distance from Central London. With the Great, Anglia trains whisking you away from Romford Station across the yard to Liverpool Street in a mere 15 minutes and the efficient, air-conditioned Elizabeth Line trains poised to follow, accessing the heart of London has never been simpler or more convenient. Many guests find this destination the perfect refuge right after arriving at Heathrow Airport, making it an ideal choice for travellers.
Under the new management, the experience at this establishment has transformed remarkably. Visitors can now expect a respectful and attentive service, greatly enhanced by the warm hospitality of the new manager, Darren, and his dedicated assistant, Bianca. The value for money here is exceptional, rivalling similar offerings in the more prominent suburbs of Wimbledon and Battersea, but with the added benefit of streamlined access to the city.
The accommodations are dainty and thoughtfully designed, featuring excellent air conditioning to ensure a comfortable stay. Located in a charming dormitory town, the local amenities are surprisingly robust, often competing with those in more affluent areas. For those with a taste for fine dining, the renowned Ivy Tree celebrated for its exceptional cuisine is conveniently situated just across the street, adding to the appeal of this location.
If you are searching for a fantastic bargain paired with outstanding transport connections, your search ends here. This place seamlessly combines comfort, quality, and convenience, making it the perfect choice for anyone looking to explore the best of London without breaking the bank.

Nestled right on a bustling high street, just a stone's throw from Romford Station, this spot is perfect for anyone in search of a quick and convenient stay. Whether you’re in a rush or just looking to pop in, you’ll find it hard to beat this prime location!

The hotel double-charged me and refused to resolve the issue. I spoke to management, but the problem remains unsolved. They booked an additional room for me instead of changing my original room and marked the first one as a no-show. Losing a customer doesn’t seem to matter to them, from what I can tell.

Wheelchair user and there was a fire alarm, went to the refuge point and pressed the button (was on 1st floor and lifts shut down a fire alarm goes off), didn't see a member of staff for 30 minutes, the staff ran out the building and I was left abandon. After 40 minutes it was declared safe, went to let my assistant dog out for abit and then no one was their to let people back in another guest had to let me in, then I waited at reception for 20 minutes to see the member of staff who abandoned me in the building so I could get a room key, collected my belongings and left. Did a whole question sheet as I checked in for my disability the member of staff who was on informed me what to do incase of a fire, I followed the instructions for a different member of staff to just abandon me in a building with smoke inside as the alarms went off.
Would never recommend this place, not safe at all. The woman how was at reception when I checked in was great but once her shift ended all went to hell

There is no parking anywhere near the hotel, and upon arriving the one parking deck suggested by the night time receptionist...that was a 10 min walk away...was closed down for maintenance, so we spent 30 min just trying to find a parking spot. So do NOT plan on bringing a car if you stay here.
The rooms are quite small...which I know is typical for London...but these were exceptionally small. They were clean so no issues there, just small.
Lastly the location is not the greatest because it's right next door to a train station where there are many homeless, drug addicts, etc. that congregate near the hotel entrance at night.

Heating system not working.
Rooms are incomfortably cold. I am staying now this night, October, I have had to change rooms twice, heating not working, third room, heating still not working. It is a ventilation system which is just blowing fresh air whatever the settings (26C-28C, is still cold air). Not acceptable.
I wouldn’t recommend staying there in winter.

Had a great stay. Front desk - Kaashel and Aditya(I believe that’s their names) were super helpful and awesome. Impeccably clean and the shower products were great. Took a while for me to figure out the air/heater but it worked great once I did. Heater was a little sun icon.
